The Tuesday night Academy members had a brilliant time testing out the Interactive Target Omni System last week, which was supplied to us due to our status as a Target Elite 1 Academy. We have also invested in a second OMNI which means that the kids can play a whole range of different games without needing to pay to play at some of the in-town venues. We will have them set up for the Wednesday night Academy session this week too. Lots of fun was had and the guys are getting used to it ahead of our Inter-Academy matches coming up on a Wednesday night. We will have Academy matches running on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night with our first fixture on May 6th. We will get all the kids that wish to play, involved in these games as a stepping stone to more competitive darts but with well over 80 members we will need to rotate. We have a few parents who have enquired about volunteering which is great because of the sheer numbers of kids we have attending. If you are interested, please feel free to contact the Academy on enquiries@dundeedartsacademy.co.uk and we can get you started. There is training on Safeguarding, completing PVG process, First Aid etc which is compulsory for any of our volunteers, but we will support you through that at no cost to you.
In the meantime, the kids will have an opportunity to get used to it and experience the auto scoring and various interactive games the Omni has in its locker during their Academy sessions.
